Join us for an evening good conversation with a panel of female entrepreneurs spanning across different industries. In this conversation we bring creative and inspirational women to share their stories on how they got to where they are today and share their insights into being a woman in business. Afterwards we will open up the floor for questions, followed by mingling with panelists and attendees.

About the Instructors

Shelly Bell

Social Entrepreneur and Digital Coach

Shelly Bell is a Social Entrepreneur and Digital Coach. She is among the nation's most sought after writers, community organizers and motivational speakers in the Washington, DC Metro area. Excelling as a truly dynamic force in the local (Washington, DC), national and now international media, her work as a performance poet has led to an arts partnership with the Northern VA Fine Arts Association, an interview with NerdWallet, a performance with the world renowned Washington Metro Philharmonic Association, and serving as an Arts Commissioner for the City of Alexandria, VA. She is passionate about community building and helping people amplify their power to live the best life possible on their own terms!

Shelly is the founder of Black Girl Vision (BGV), a social enterprise dedicated to finding creative solutions to dissolve the race and gender gap in access to capital. BGV's mission is to expose women of color to economic independence via entrepreneurship by developing initiatives for micro-finance, business development and community building. “Boss Up” is BGV’s signature pitch competition where the community donates, the donations create the “vision fund,” women of color pitch ideas and one woman walks away with seed funding for her business. Black Girl Vision also hosts networking events, social gatherings, and story sharing events.


Jenelle Coy


Coy specializes in digital & creative strategy. Coy holds a B.A. from Howard University and is completing a M.S. in Financial Management at Harvard University, Outside of Coy +, Jenelle provides pro-bono consulting to a number of women's advocacy organizations. In 2017, Jenelle was honored as Washington Women in PR's Emerging Leader Honoree and as a Forbes 2018 30 Under 30 in Marketing & Advertising.
